Michael D. Templeton
Michael Templeton is an associate of the firm. He focuses on the procurement and enforcement of intellectual property rights and works with clients to prepare and prosecute trademark applications and prepare trademark infringement opinions. Mike has advised clients from startups to Fortune 100 companies. His expertise includes manufacturing processes, automotive technologies, medical devices, consumer electronics and appliances, and furniture systems.
Mike’s past legal experience includes working as a law clerk at a Detroit-area IP law firm and a Chicago IP law firm, drafting patent applications and responses to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Actions relating to mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as other disciplines. Prior to law school, Mike was an engineer at a global automotive manufacturer, where he focused on the design and manufacture of interior vehicle components. Additionally, he specialized in the integration of electrical systems within vehicle components. Mike was also an engineer at a Tier One supplier where he concentrated on the design and production of automotive driveline components.
Mike is a member of the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He is also Price Heneveld’s steadfast softball team manager, in which he has led the team to a 17-9 record over two years.
