Professional Support Staff

We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team of staff. The ideal candidate is an independent self-starter, possesses superior communication skills and attention to detail, and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The firm offers a competitive wage and employee benefits. A hybrid schedule is available after an initial in-office training period.

Intellectual property duties include, but are not limited to: preparing and filing new provisional, utility, design, continuation, divisional, and National Stage patent applications, including any essential documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); preparing and filing Information Disclosure Statements; communicating with clients and obtaining executed formal documents required to complete U.S. and international application processes, including Powers of Attorney, Oaths and Declarations, Assignments, formal figures, etc.; using the USPTO and other intellectual property internet websites to research and compile data on U.S. and international patent applications and trademarks; assisting with preparing patent and trademark searches; filing trademark applications and responses with the USPTO; communicating with clients and compiling trademark proof of use; and determining trademark descriptions of goods and services all under the supervision of an attorney.

Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to: monitoring a daily docket, preparing reference materials, transcribing documents, drafting correspondence, establishing and maintaining physical and electronic files, processing new client matters, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.

Desired Skills & Experience

Candidates must have two years of law office experience, preferably in the field of intellectual property.
