
Jeff Kapteyn has substantial experience procuring and enforcing patents for mechanical and electromechanical inventions. Mr. Kapteyn also registers and enforces trademarks. Prior to joining Price Heneveld in 1996, he worked as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft Corporation, where he analyzed and designed satellite components and systems. While attending law school, Mr. Kapteyn interned at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was involved in litigation relating to government contracts. He earned a J.D. from The George Washington University, an M.S. degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University, and a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University. Mr. Kapteyn is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and he is also admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Kapteyn is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society, and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
In his role as Price Heneveld’s Chief Diversity Officer, Mr. Kapteyn chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee.
